Grievance Redressal Cell

GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL MECHANISM

Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya follows a zero-tolerance policy regarding racial, religious, cast and gender discrimination. The college has constituted following sub-committees for the redressal of any type of grievances of students and workers:

  • Internal Complaints Committee
  • Anti-ragging Committee
  • Committee for Prevention of Sexual Harassment
  • Grievance Redressal Committee

All these committees work in consultation with the Principal and IQAC. Periodic meetings are held to discuss the issues regarding any grievances received relating to ragging, sexual harassment, racial discrimination, etc. and take actions accordingly. The committee members prepare report on the grievance redressed, if any and the actions taken.

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is formed according to the provisions of The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The ICC’s twin functions are

  • To spread awareness about gender-related issues and functioning of the ICC
  • To hear and address complaints regarding sexual harassment at our college.

Anti-Ragging Committee was a result of the Supreme Court order on Ragging (2007), the judgement of the Supreme Court on Ragging (2009) and UGC regulations to curb the menace of Ragging (2009) whereby the college ensures that its campus is free of any ragging activity. The college students are regularly mentored for their ethical development and behavioral maturity.

Committee for Prevention of Sexual Harassment works under the guidance of ICC and follows the provisions of The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

Grievance Redressal Committee regular monitors complaints or grievances received from the stakeholders in general and students in particular.
