Evaluation and Examination Structure

The institution implemented the new evaluation reforms initiated by the affiliating University from the academic session 2006-07 whereby 10% marks are set aside for internal assessments. Five internal assessments of 20 marks in each Honours paper and two such in each General paper are to be held in an academic session. A percentage of the marks attained in these tests are duly included to that achieved in the University Examination. Other than this the University has gone for a major overhaul in the examination structure with the 1+1+1 system in place. The revamped Examination structure is as follows:

Part - I Part - II Part - III
For Honours Students
Honours - 100 x 2 = 200*
*(Theory-200, Practical- Nil)
Elec. Sub. - 100 x 2 = 200
------------------ Total  - 400
For Honours Students
Honours - 100 x 3 = 300*
*(Theory   200, Practical -
100)
Elec. Sub.       200 x 2 = 400
---------------------- Total  - 700
For Honours Students
Honours - 100 x 3 =300*
*(Theory- 100, Practical-

For General  Students
Elec. Sub. 100 x 3 = 300*
*(Theory 300, Practical Nil)
For General  Students

For General Students

Bound as the institution is by the University guidelines it does not have much leeway in framing its own evaluation pattern and thus does all it can to best implement the University framework.
