About the Department

Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya was established on 9^th August, 1968 having political science as one of the pass subject on and from 1970-71 academic sessions the institution got permission to teach Honours course in political science. Barring the few years, the Mahavidyalaya has been getting a good number of pupils in this subject .The academic result in the University Examination have been quite satisfactory .Now a good number of successful students are undergoing their post graduate study at Vidyasagar University.

Seminar, Conferences, Special Lecture since 2008

One day UGC Sponsored state level seminar was organised by Department of  Political Science on 12^th December,2008.The topic of the seminar was “Apoliticization and India Democracy” and in 2012 (9^th February)our department was organised  another UGC Sponsored state level seminar, The topic was on “Crisis of Justice: At The Advent of Socio-Political Field” in The 21^st Century. One day Special Lecture was organised on 10^th December 2019.The topic of the special lecture was “ Human Rights: Laws & Movements”.

• To make the department Plastic Free Zone.
• After completion of their U.G.( honours & pass)course ,the student in some cases  opt for post graduation ,the teachers help the students in this regard by providing study materials ,books or any other teaching add that is relevant.
• The teachers want the students to be established ,so they give outmost priority to their performance
• To make students aware about the prospect of opting the course (Honours & Pass)
