About The Department
The Department Of Zoology of the Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya was set up in 2011-12 as a Department to teach Zoology as a General subject and to provide a lateral support to the existing Science subjects of our Mission Mahavidyalaya with an all-out effort by our the-then Principal Dr. Mani Shankar Maity. Later, in 2013-14, the Department was given the permission by the Vidyasagar University to teach Zoology Honours. And, that was the red-letter day for our Dept. as it marked the starting of the golden journey for the Department of Zoology. The Department is run by four efficient and sincere Guest Professors. Since there is no full-time teacher in the Department, one of the permanent full-time teacher acts as the In-Charge of this Department. The present teaching and non-teaching profile is given below:
