About the Department

The Department of Sanskrit was set up in the year 1968, started with 3 years General Degree Course. But the 3 years Honours Course was started in the year  of 2008.The nine months Sanskrit spoken class was conducted from  2009 to 2010 by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan. The Sanskrit day is celebrated every year on the day of Rakhi Purnima  and the programme is conducted in Sanskrit language. The wall- magazine is published in Sanskrit language with Devnagaric letters . The Educational tour for Sanskrit students is conducted by the department every year. The Vedic chanting and some Sanskrit classes are taught by audio visual medium and application of computers. The students from Sanskrit Department participate in college cultural  programme  in Sanskrit language every year.The departmental seminar is conducted some times for instilling  interest in the students. The humble collection of books for on Sanskrit are available in our Department Library.
